I have found that the cathode is the negative and the anode is the positive. The negative is the current and positive is the source of the current. You can use a simple diagram to explain this.

Well, thats a great analogy, but you’d still have to say that the cathode is the power supply for our phone and the anode is our phone. In reality, our phone is the cathode, our phone battery is the anode. If we were to make a better analogy, its anode would be the battery and the cathode would be the battery.
