Our relationship with the world is complex, and every person has a different level of self-awareness. The key to self-awareness is to know when you’re on the “dark side” and when you’re on the “light side.
The good news is that most of us are pretty aware of our self-awareness, but because we’re used to thinking of ourselves as “good” people, we’re often not aware of our negative selves. Because we have such a “good” view of ourselves, we’re reluctant to even acknowledge that we might be “bad.
If you have a light-side self-awareness then you can recognize when you might be using your light-side tendencies inappropriately. If you have a dark-side self-awareness then you can recognize when you might be using your dark-side tendencies inappropriately.
We all have a light-side and a dark-side, but a light-side person is very aware of what they are. A dark-side person is aware of what they are, but is often not aware of their dark-side tendencies. In The Three Levels of Self-Awareness, we have a very clear concept of what each level of self-awareness represents. The first level, the light-side self-awareness, is the awareness of our self-awareness.
Our third level of self-awareness, the dark-side self-awareness, is the awareness of the way our inner demons control our behavior. When we are not aware of our dark-side tendencies we are more likely to use them inappropriately. Our dark-side tendencies are the things that are keeping us from being the person that we know we are capable of being.
Myself, I find myself getting into the dark-side self-awareness pretty easily. It’s not just because I’m a bit of a control freak. I’ve always been a control freak, and I have been in and out of therapy for a long time. The dark-side self-awareness is often the cause of self-talk that I use to talk myself out of danger.
I often think of this as a “self-talk” because it is a form of self-talk that is often a way for us to control our feelings. However, I don’t think that this is a good thing. We should be able to be who we are without any kind of self-talk.
Myself? A control freak? Thats an interesting way of putting it, and I totally agree. I tend to use this self-talk to explain why I should do things or be afraid of things, but I think that it can take away from who we really are because we don’t trust ourselves. A self-talk is a form of self-control that is used to control our behavior and help us to be the best version of us that we can be.
I think this is a good idea. It’s important to remember that we can’t be who we are without being who we want to be. We should be able to control our thoughts about ourselves, and our own actions, and make those thoughts and actions into who we become. It’s not easy, but I think it’s absolutely necessary to be a better version of ourselves.
There are a number of ways to measure how much better you are. The most obvious example is self-esteem. If you are depressed, you are probably not better than you were before you had the depression. If you are happy, you are probably not better than you were before you had the happy. But you might be better than you used to be if you make changes in your life.
